To avoid being stereotyped as a dumb jock American actor John DeLuca plays an armpit airing life guard (in red shorts too) in Staten Island Summer. John's character is loud, vain, and self important plus there's a lazy life guard, just to be novel.

American actor Joey Pollari plays a small shirtless grinning (spookyish so) jock in the second series of American Crime. Joey and his even off camera grinning get some nearly interest shots but was better (costumed) playing geek in the American version of The Inbetweeners

And Canadian diver Francois Imbeau-Dulac prefers to do silly and odd photoshoots rather than focusing on what is important.
