F*ck

Why is it so hard for people to get their own webspace and upload pictures onto it? You can find website after website and forum after forum giving advice on how to do it.

I ask because the usual result of this failing is that they nick bandwidth and yes that's happened here.

All pictures on my 'qudd11' account are not showing up and I am expecting the 'you've been a naughty boy' Email from the provider when business resumes on Monday. So it looks like everyone who visits here has lost out. I am though hoping that when bandwidth is exceeded they just close off things for 24 hours but that may not be the case. What really annoys me is that I uploaded a lot of pictures kindly sent to me by Tony our roving reporter and I probably have lost them.

This site relies heavily on the good will of free webspace providers so that you all get to see the pictures without having to pay a subscription to me or a forum provider. I do not do this to make money. That's not the ethos of this site. I do spend time on on the site and that time is limited. I can not afford the time to upload pictures onto new webspace every time someone can't be bothered to move a picture to their webspace.

So what can I do about this?

I can find out who is doing it, trace their IP address and complain to their ISP, I can contact the owners of forums and get them chucked off, and I can post on other forums bad mouthing them. I'm not going to but there are people who will happily do so.

What I have done is Emailed asking the owner of one board where this is happening to delete the posts in question.

If this keeps happening I will have to close this blog as it is a tad pointless to have one like this one with no working pictures.

So please do not link directly to a picture on this blog.

If you want to share a picture you can sign on to free webspace like Netscape or Tripod.co.uk (not .com) and post as many pictures as you like on Dreamcaps, FM, Campfire, Horseys or elsewhere.

Just remember a lot of things on the web only exist because people take the effort to set them up and run them so don't abuse that.

PS What really p*sses me off is that this spoils my inner glow that the BNP, Respect and New Labour did badly in the elections.
